Hide Your Faces
Photobucket

It amazes me, really, how some people can be such foul creatures sometimes.
Judgemental and shallow.
Stereotyping people based loosely just on appearances.
To me, it is vile and disgusting.
I agree that appearances can be important sometimes. Take for example ; a job interview or a first date.
Those scenarios are different in the sense that you only get 1 chance to know him/her thus making it inevitable to judge him/her by appearance.
But how about when a new friend is introduced to you or maybe even seeing someone who might be your future classmate ?
Should you not at least attempt to get to know the person before going around making snide remarks behind the person's back ?
Or would you rather shun the person just cause he/she looks different and never get to really know the person behind his/her exterior?
I know i would never judge someone in those situations based solely on his appearance.
In fact, i rarely judge/ridicule people based on just appearance alone.

Because, more often then not, your judgement would be wrong.

Never judge a book by its cover

People rarely practise what they preach, do they not ?
Why do people like to judge/ridicule others based on appearances?
I mean, when it comes down to it, beneath those made-up faces and fancy clothes, aren't we all the same ?
Throw away our wide array of cosmetics, our myriad of fancy clothes and expensive branded bags/shoes, strip us bare and we are naught but the same - human beings.

So why judge and ridicule each other ?

Or maybe, just maybe,
it is the fact that we are all the same that causes the itch inside our skin that constantly tempts us to scratch at it.
Or maybe, just maybe,
it is the fact that we are no better then the person standing right next to us that constantly gnaws at us from the inside.

Maybe deep down inside, we know we are all nothing but mere human beings that will one day disintegrate and become nothing but dust.
'Death is the ultimate debt that humanity pays back to nature'

And maybe feeling so small and insignificant, we feel the need to be superior. After all, it is in our original nature to dominate.
The very instinct that still resides in most species in the animal kingdom today.
Thus we strive to make ourselves better then the person next to us.
And i guess some people just seek solace in putting others down. Ridiculing others to make themselves feel better -- which is saddening.

We are, by far, the most advanced and supposedly the most knowledgeable species,
but the truth is,
sometimes, i dont see how we are any different from the pets we keep or the other species that roam wild.

So nervous my stomach feels sick. Blargh.
