Happy Lil' Kitten

Ahem.
5 days into my sickness and I had to leave the house. Couldn't resist the temptation to spread my germs to everyone else. Plus, it was the weekend ! What better time than that :) I decided to head to town where maximum damage could be done ! Muahahaha.

So, like I said, on the weekend, I ventured into Cotton On @ 313 to get their shorts as there was a promotion; 3 items for $30 ! But by the time I got there, the promotion had ended :( So I got pissed off, ~~sneezed and coughed on as many items in Cotton On as I could,~~ and decided to go on a rampage at the Scape Flea Market. Sadly, my wallet was the one who suffered the most.

Will do a post on the stuff I got soon cause I threw all the clothes in the wash. As for the stuff that didn't need to be thrown in the wash...

I'm on my period and I'm down with the flu + fever. That's really not a good combo.

Exactly a week ago, I was talking bout how I was hoping to get the Miss Selfridge bodysuit but no... it is still not in my possession.

And in the last week, I have been buying a whole lot of other crap (mainly clothes) to try and fill the gaping hole in my heart, caused by the lack of aforementioned bodysuit, to no avail. And now I have an even bigger hole in my pocket.

I think having my period really spurred me on also... so gunna regret this. Especially cause I tend to buy stuff that I end up hating when I'm PMSal.

Review: Bio Oil

Awhile ago, I started to really get annoyed by the stretch marks and scars all over my body and after whining about it for some time, I decided to get off my ass and do something about it.

Not gunna bore you with all the little details but basically, I keep getting all these scars and marks on my legs (not entirely sure how I get them) and have stretch marks on my thighs, butt and breasts (once again, not entirely sure where/when I got them but maybe from my major, inadvertent, weight loss a couple of years back). Skin problems, galore ! W00ts !

Thus, step in... Bio Oil !

Marketed as a 'multi use' product that you can apply to your body and face and even use as a bath oil, it is said to contain Vitamins E and A, as well as a blend of calendula, lavender, rosemary and chamomile oils.

Formulated with PureCellin Oil that is suppose to improve the penetrating power of the oil, it promises to rectify all sorts of skin related problems like scars, uneven skin tone, stretch marks and dehydrated skin etc.

Sounds wonderful, doesn't it ?

So, does this oil that is presented as a near medical treatment for skin related concerns live up to it's hype ?

Yeeaaaaah... no.

It did close to nothing for my scars and stretch marks.

The marks on my legs did seem to fade the tiniest bit but I'm sure I could get the same results with any other product.

My stretch marks are still there with no visible improvements. Cept, wait... whats all that other stuff around my boobies ?

... PIMPLES.

Yes. Bio Oil, being comedogenic, made me BREAKOUT. Thanks. So, now, instead of having just stretch marks on my breasts, I also have pimples.

Or maybe that was their plan; apply Bio Oil that will clog your pores and give you breastne so people will be too distracted by all the lil red dots all over your chest to notice your stretch marks. Hey, Bio oil does eradicate stretch mark problems ! Psht.

And taking a closer look at the ingredients, Bio Oil's main ingredient is none other then Mineral Oil (think Baby Oil) which can be found in practically every other body moisturizer out there at a fraction of the price. As are most of their other ingredients.

Plus, I have no idea what PurCellin Oil is but I don't think that it's anything special as it is still greasy, even greasier then some other moisturizers I've tried and I don't think it helps with absorption much as it takes forever to rub in and there is always quite a bit of residue.

So yeah...
Really wished that I had found an amazing product that actually delivers and am able to share it with all of you but I can't.

Bio Oil is basically just scented Baby Oil pretending to be specialist skincare treatment when in reality it is just another run of the mill product, over hyped and over priced.

Sorry, folks !
Money better spent elsewhere.

I guess it is true to a certain extend then ? Growing Pains of a Different Kind

Growing up stinks.
In the past few years, I've gained a whole list of (not so major) health issues ! Either that or I've just been really oblivious to my own body when I was younger and as I grew older, I became more aware and realise how problematic my body actually is... which still reiterates my point that growing up sucks major hairy donkey balls ! It's better not to notice certain things, sometimes...

Anemia
Keratosis Pilaris
Cheilitis
Sensitive skin
Iron deficiency
Stretch marks

... to name a few.

Thankfully, none of it is anything life threatening. But it still is hella annoying cause I can't stop fixating on them ! And fo sho' a sudden realization of how truly crappy and full of issues the body you once thought was fine is, can't be good for your mental health...which is turn deteriorates your physical state. It's a vicious cycle you can't win !

Gah !
I need to stop fixating on trivial niggly lil things... but they really are annoying !! Just like how I must be coming off right now, haha.
Fine... I'll grow up and shut up now. MJEEEHHH !

Zouk Flea Buys

Got the cute dress (that actually fits !!!!) and furry bag from the Zouk flea market last wekeend. $8 each, me likey !

Didn't stay long cause I don't particularly enjoy being in a room full of random people with bad lighting and music blasting... not unless I'm intoxicated ! I think I'm less tolerant when I'm sober, haha.
Plus, not much caught my attention. Maybe it's cause there weren't that many booths... or maybe I'm just too old for a Zouk flea market.

(Short Lived) Happy Hair Days

Visited the hair salon not too long ago. Trimmed off my frazzled dying ends and got a nice blow out.

My hair was in an alright state before the visit. The black parts being virgin (ooh, kinky! XD) hair was okay and the red-ish parts that were once so damaged and dry were slowly getting better after months and months of treating it with loads of TLC and tedious waiting. All in all, it wasn't the best but considering all that has been done to my hair, I couldn't complain. But after trimming off all the split ends and whatnot, I thought it looked really good ! With all the dry ends gone, my hair looked much healthier and better. Was so happy with the results I just had to camwhore !

And pain your eyes I will...

Finally !! Pretty looking hair. Happiest I've been with my hair since all the bleaching.

But alas, it was not to be... and now I'm back to having shit for hair. Long story... shall or shall not elaborate on it in another post depending on whether I feel like writing a longass rant filled with expletives. We shall see .

D'OH !

PS: Yes, I am aware that my lipstick had smudged onto my philtrum in some of the pictures but I can't be arsed to photoshop my pictures and I don't see why I should either so stfu. I'm realz, bitches.

Meh

Just went to the 3rd funeral I've been to in the span of 12 months. It's depressing...

I realise that I tend to focus all my energy on niggly lil things while shoving the real problem deep into a pit of, I would think, utter chaos, after the years of me doing that. I find it much easier to deal with anger and aggression as opposed to sorrow or sadness. Or is aggression how I show my sorrow ? Haha. I don't know. All I know is that I'm one twisted sister :)

And that my emotions aren't being handled all too well right now. Le Sigh.

This made me laugh though:

Apparently, I dress like I'm going to a funeral everyday. Lol.
